“MBA-MCI Program” Information session attracts young businessmen in HCMC

Sunday, May 15th, there was an information session about MBA-MCI (Executive Master of Business Administration – Management Consulting International) program in Kim Do Hotel held by MBA-MCI program.

An overview on MBA-MCI info session

Being one of the pioneers in international MBA program in Vietnam, MBA-MCI was a cooperating program between Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) and University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (UNW). There was participation and presentation of both schools especially the presence of Mr. Beat Wafler – Consulate of Switzerland, along with current students and more than 150 guests from different companies.

The sconference focused mainly on the introduction of the MBA-MCI Program by Dr. Vu The Dung. Beside the overview of HCMUT, as well as the information about admission requirements, schedule, degree, tuition, financial aid … Dr. Vu The Dung has shared his precious experience in choosing a high quality MBA program. According to him, the first important elements are the reputation and international accreditation teaching quality; next, it was the reputation of the partner school and the teaching staff. Foreign professors were not enough; they should be qualified by a third-party accreditation about professional knowledge as well as teaching experience.

Also in this session, Dr. Oliver Gottschall – consultant of McKinsey, an international consulting company, has presented about the general development of the consulting industry in the world and Vietnam prospect in particular. According to him, management consulting has created approximately $130 billion/ year all over the world. Particularly, in Vietnam, this industry has just begun to soar and is a very large potential market after Integration time. He emphasized: “It’s time to step in the consulting in Vietnam, and equip the knowledge to do that”. Dr. Oliver Gottschall also stated that MBA-MCI students are not only who are working in consulting companies but also come from many other professions. It shows that management consulting is playing the important role in business management.

After the overview on the program and career prospect, the conference room was heated up by the direct Q&A between professors and guests. This showed us the importance of consultants and knowledge in consulting has been confirmed.
